Safariland introduces the world's first Body Worn Camera Auto-activation System featuring the VIEVU® LE4 Body Worn Camera and a Safariland 7TS™ Level II or Level III Retention™ Duty Holster.

Using a retention duty holster as the first pairing with this technology, the Safariland Camera Auto-activation System works by enabling a 7TS™ Duty Holster to automatically and securely activate a VIEVU® LE4 Body Worn Camera when an officer removes their firearm from its holstered position.

The VIEVU® LE4 Body Worn Camera, when in standby mode, is constantly buffering (and deleting if not needed) 30-second periods of footage. Once the activation system is initiated, the camera retains the last 30 seconds of footage prior to initiation and will continue to record until the officer turns the camera off.

In a critical situation, an officer's focus should be on protecting themselves and the safety of others. Their first trained instinct needs to be the drawing of their firearm, not turning on a body worn camera.
